The Nith Valley Ministry Area leadership team is please to announce that Heidi Van Schaik has been hired for the Youth Worker position in the ministry area.
Heidi will begin her ministry on August 21st.

On Sunday, April 2nd, at 3:00 pm, Rev. Tanya Ramer will be installed to the office of Pastor at Trinity Church. All are welcome to this service, with our Dean, Pastor Bonnie Schelter-Brown, officiating at the installation, and Pastor Jeff Smith preaching. Refreshments will follow.
Visiting rostered leaders are invited to vest. The colour of the day is purple. (Trinity also offers our usual morning worship service at 9:30 am on April 2nd.)
At worship on January 8th, 2017, our congregational president, Lynn Thompson, stood before the assembly and made this news public: Rev. Tanya Ramer has accepted the call to serve as the next pastor of Trinity Church.
We were heartened to hear this news — which brings our period of interim ministry nearly to a close. The Rev. Dr. Stephen Larson, our Task Team on Interim Ministry, our Call Committee, and our Congregational Council all had important roles to play these last two and half years. We are grateful to all of these folks.
Pastor Tanya will begin her ministry alongside the people of Trinity Church on March 20th. Until that time, we hold her, and the people of Bethany Lutheran Church in Woodstock, in our prayers, as they, and we, prepare for the transition ahead.
In the weeks to come, we’ll make plans for Pastor Tanya’s installation service — watch our Facebook page and website for details. But in the meantime, we plan to say farewell and thank-you to Pastor Stephen Larson on February 12th. Not only is he concluding his time at Trinity, he is also retiring from nearly 42 years of ministry! We’ll send him off with a special worship service and luncheon that day. We’ll have a few surprises in store, too!
“Almighty God, through your Son Jesus Christ you gave the holy apostles many gifts and commanded them to feed your flock. Inspire all pastors to proclaim your word diligently and your people to receive it willingly, that finally we may receive the crown of eternal glory; through Jesus Christ, our Savior and Lord.”
(Prayer of the Day — Installation of a Pastor)
On Sunday, December 18th, members of Trinity met for a special Congregational Call Meeting.
In recent weeks our Call Committee had made a unanimous recommendation to our Congregational Council with the name of a candidate who could serve as Trinity’s next pastor. The council unanimously endorsed this recommendation.
At the Congregational Call Meeting, we heard from our Call Committee Chair and the President and Secretary of our Congregational Council. We considered the decision before us, and voted to extend a call to the pastor candidate. In this season of waiting and watching, we continue to wait just a little longer, as the pastor now has some time to consider the call to Trinity Church.
We thank the Call Committee who has worked tirelessly to bring Trinity to this important milestone in our shared faith journey.
