Trinity’s Next Pastor: Rev. Tanya Ramer

ramer-head-shotAt worship on January 8th, 2017, our congregational president, Lynn Thompson, stood before the assembly and made this news public: Rev. Tanya Ramer has accepted the call to serve as the next pastor of Trinity Church.

We were heartened to hear this news — which brings our period of interim ministry nearly to a close. The Rev. Dr. Stephen Larson, our Task Team on Interim Ministry, our Call Committee, and our Congregational Council all had important roles to play these last two and half years. We are grateful to all of these folks.

Pastor Tanya will begin her ministry alongside the people of Trinity Church on March 20th. Until that time, we hold her, and the people of Bethany Lutheran Church in Woodstock, in our prayers, as they, and we, prepare for the transition ahead.

In the weeks to come, we’ll make plans for Pastor Tanya’s installation service — watch our Facebook page and website for details. But in the meantime, we plan to say farewell and thank-you to Pastor Stephen Larson on February 12th. Not only is he concluding his time at Trinity, he is also retiring from nearly 42 years of ministry! We’ll send him off with a special worship service and luncheon that day. We’ll have a few surprises in store, too!

“Almighty God, through your Son Jesus Christ you gave the holy apostles many gifts and commanded them to feed your flock. Inspire all pastors to proclaim your word diligently and your people to receive it willingly, that finally we may receive the crown of eternal glory; through Jesus Christ, our Savior and Lord.”
