In-Person Worship: Fall 2021

Our church council has chosen Sunday, September 26th as our target date for a return to in-person worship. While vaccination rates are climbing ever higher in Waterloo Region, the Delta variant remains a concern, even among vaccinated people. With children under 12 not able to get vaccinated, we are cautiously watching the return to in-person learning once the school year is underway.

While the present provincial rules in Step 3 do allow churches to open for in-person worship, the number of people allowed is determined by how many can be seated with 2 metres of physical distancing between households. The number of people Trinity can accommodate in this arrangement depends on the size of the families wanting to attend, meaning there’s no magic number for in-person attendance. But, for example, if all folks wanting to attend were in a 2-person household, we could seat 40 people (plus worship leaders). At this time, Trinity requires an RSVP to attend worship, as it was last fall when we opened for a few weeks. If you would like to attend in-person worship on September 26th, please contact the church office by September 21st.

Online worship has been essential to our shared faith journey during the pandemic, and we are grateful that so many are able to participate. Expect that Trinity will offer online worship even after we can welcome folks in the building without any restrictions. For those that can’t participate online in the pandemic, Trinity provides printed worship materials, and our pastors have been visiting on porches and in backyards, offering Holy Communion as requested. If you or a friend would like to receive printed worship materials or a home visit, please contact Pastor Tanya or the church office.
