Trinity has supported our friends at oneROOF in the past by collecting backpacks, sleeping bags, and cash donations. oneROOF Youth Services is committed to providing for the safety, support, and overall well-being of youth who are experiencing homelessness, and youth who are at-risk of homelessness, aged 12-25, in Waterloo Region.
Right now, oneROOF has a need for medical-grade mattresses for their emergency shelter. The 18-bed shelter is an essential part of keeping youth and young people off the streets.
Trinity endeavors to raise $2000 to purchase 10 mattresses for oneROOF. Until April 28th, we will gladly receive donations to meet this target. Simply mark an offering envelope or e-transfer donation as “oneROOF mattresses”. Consider donating a few dollars, or even $200 to sponsor one of the mattresses. Any amount raised beyond $2000 will go to oneROOF to be used where needed most.
Thank you for your extra-mile givings as we support oneROOF with this urgent need.
190 Meals for the Food Bank at WFRC
Over the years, the people of Trinity have generously responded to those in our community who require food support with donations to Wilmot Family Resources Centre (WFRC). Our faith not only calls on us to do this, but it also asks us to do so with humility and without judgment. Thank you to all those folks who regularly donate to the food bank at WFRC — both food and monetary donations.
I was reminded recently that there are people in our community who are unsheltered and need ongoing food assistance. It was suggested to me that a great way to recognize Trinity’s 190th anniversary would be to provide 190 meals in our community. Providing these meals will require many pairs of hands. There is, however, a way to make this happen! A meal can be as simple as donating a can of chili and a can of peaches, or a can of ravioli and a can of peas or corn; a can of stew and a pack of juice boxes; cereal and fruit cocktail.
If you are able, please consider donating two or three items that make up a meal. All donations are graciously accepted! Simply leave food donations in one of the baskets at Trinity’s entrances and we’ll provide updates on our progress toward our target of 190 meals.
The food bank at Wilmot Family Resource Centre and Trinity greatly appreciate your continuing support!
